DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY
Attorney Jack Kennedy is a candidate for District Court Judge, Department 1, Third Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada. The Third Judicial District encompasses Churchill County and Lyon County.
“I’ve had the benefit of a successful law practice in Northern Nevada for more than 30 years and really look forward to this next phase in my legal career,” said Kennedy. “As District Court Judge I will bring efficiency to the court, will apply the law fairly, and treat everyone with respect.”
Jack Kennedy has practiced law in Northern Nevada for more than thirty years. He began his private practice in 1977 while employed by the Washoe County School District, where he began working shortly after graduating from McGeorge School of Law in 1975. No stranger to hard work, Jack successfully balanced the demands of his duties with the District and his growing practice for ten years. After nearly twelve years of service with the Washoe County School District, Jack “retired” and devoted his full-time attention to the practice of law. Twenty years later, having enjoyed much professional success, Jack Kennedy has pledged his experience, education and training to public service by filing his candidacy for District Court Judge.
Mr. Kennedy is a resident of Fernley, Nevada, where he lives with his wife, Kathy. Together, they have five grown children and four grandchildren.
Jack is a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Fernley, currently serving his second term on its Board of Directors.
